Gluttony definition: To gulp down or swallow, the over indulgence and over consumption of anything to the point of waste.
The food and beverage industry is a major branding player. Food and drink is a need of humans and animals in order to survive, and advertising experts are paramount at extending that need in to a want and desire. They will go to extreme lengths to market their products and encourage consumers to buy as much as possible, as often as possible, thus encouraging the sin gluttony. What strikes me as concerning, is that the major players in this game, are not health conscious, only profit conscious. Leading brands like Mcdonalds and Pepsico, in fact, have massive health implications in humans, made cheaply and abundantly and are exposed to the public with little to no warnings. I think the need for warnings on these products are highly necessary. Activists have gone to great lengths in exposing these faults, however I feel that some of these products shouldn't be available at all if they clearly have damaging implications on health, and is an utter abomination that this continues to be exploited worldwide. But that is capitalism for you.
